There's also space to celebrate what you've been working on, get unstuck if you need a nudge, and hear what's coming up at WriteClub.
Whether you've been writing for years or you're just starting to take it seriously, you'll fit right in.
Writing doesn't have to be a solo sport - come and write with us.

If you're a graduate of WriteClub's Write Your Novel course or if you've taken part in feedback groups elsewhere, you know how helpful those deadlines, plus the thought of people actually reading your work can be!
This course is designed to support you with the next part: sticking with it. Work in Progress is for writers who want to keep that momentum going, with regular deadlines, live feedback and excellent writerly company.
Every fortnight we'll spend 30 minutes on a craft deep dive - a close look at an extract from a contemporary novel with focus on a particular technique that might change how you see your own work - followed by 60 minutes of focused feedback time. You'll submit up to 1500 words ahead of each session via a shared Google folder and leave with a clearer sense of what's working and what's next.👇
Get Your Flash ON!
Flash Fiction Workshop
Online drop-in workshop | All levels welcome
Date: Sun 20th Sept
Time: 6-8pm
Zoom
£36 / £29 concessions
Flash fiction (also known as micro-fiction, smoke-long fiction, sudden fiction, drabble, or short, short fiction!) is usually under 1,000 words. It’s dense, immediate, and often surprising, funny, weird, dark, poetic, or experimental. At its best, flash fiction moves the reader in just a few lines.
Perfect for new writers or experienced scribes looking to experiment, it’s a form that teaches precision, creativity, and bold storytelling.
This two-hour, real-time online workshop is led by award-winning flasher, editor of the National Flash Fiction Day Anthology, and WriteClub founder Alison Powell.
You’ll explore examples of outstanding flash fiction, gain insight into Alison’s own process, and leave with fresh ideas and a few flash drafts of your own!
In this session, you will:
⚡ Discover brilliant examples of flash fiction
⚡ Explore the (sometimes blurry) line between flash and prose poetry
⚡ Learn techniques for writing exciting, compact stories
⚡ Receive a wealth of prompts to kickstart your ideas
⚡ Get practical tips for publishing your work
Whether you're flash-curious or already hooked — come and write with us. Book your space now👇
